I don't know how good the srt 4 is supposed to be, but I heard something like 200+ horses stock. but my little spitfire was able to better thn match one tonight. the guy pulled up behind me quick on a 2 lane road, and followed right on my tail for like 5 miles acting like he wanted to pass me going through a residential section. I denied him at every oportunity. we finally got to a 4 lane road in a commercial part of town, and then, to a light. he pulled up next to me, and revved his rather pathetic sounding engine. so I revved mine. His car was clearly stock, mine clearly not, but hey, you get what you ask for... I had pulled about 3 car lengths on him by the next light, where I was turning left. he looked none too happy. I on the other hand was ellated.

I'll Tell you, I was impressed with my little 1.5 liter tonight.

Mod's to spitfire. ported and chamber modified head, 9.5/1 compression, dead soft copper head gasket, bored .040 over, forged pistons, polished and balanced rods. lightened and ballanced crank, flywheel, and clutch pack custom 4-1 header and webber carb.

nice kill, though I have to doubt it was the SRT-4, those things run low 14's stock if the driver is decent. Even at Denver elevation I watched a 40 yr old w/ happy tags run a 14.7 and he was easing into it off the light. I've heard the boost is controlled electonically to reach a certain torque spec, it will continue to boost until it see's the desired torque. This could be farse info though so don't quote me.

I agree with you, that there was something wrong with the picture, but I don't know what it was. I was expecting to be serriously trounced by the car, but I figured "what the heck if he beats me, I got a plenty good excuse" when I won, I was almost dissapointed. I heard the same thing about the boost being electronicly controlled. and the axhaust manifold is quite interesting, as the turbine housing is built right in! tdo4 bassically a small 16g only with the impellar and turbine turning the opposite way. (I've done some reading since last week)

Oh, I also have a cam, free flowwing exhaust, and a few other tweaks, but even so, my combination should be good for about 115 H.P. tops, er... I mean 250 in tuner land :) but my car also wieghs about 1600 pounds with me in it.

Maybe really poor driving in the neon?

If you can pull away from the neon like that your car should be a mid 13s car. My BMW makes 230 hp to the wheels (and weights 3000ibs) and runs high 13s, yet the neons at the local track runs better times than my car when well driven.
