Yesterday I was driving down a six lane road on my way home from cruising the local racers hang out. I'm a little bummed cause no one was racing but I still frequently check my mirrors for fast movers to dance with. A set of head lights was rolling up and the car looked sporty (it was dark). Its a white L82 Corvette with two mid-40's rock and rollers. They have the T-tops off to feel the wind in there salt-n-pepper hair. I blow off at them as we roll up to a red light. Naturally they laugh amongst themselves and the driver says, "You've gotta be kidding me?" He rev's back at me and they both start laughing again. I patiently finish my cigerette knowing the light is long. I then gave the car a good look down before giving it the thumbs down. This didn't sit to well with our mid-life crisis bro's. The anticipation was killing me cause I had no idea how much was done to it and if I would even have a chance. Green light, we both launch about the same but I am still spinning. When I get it hooked up I shoot about a car lenght on him, I hit second and chirp the tires, as I hit third I look back and their about 2 car lenghs back and loosing ground. I shut it down and cruise to the next red light, when they pull up next to me I lean out the window and say, "You've gotta be kidding me."

I laughed my self to sleep last night. I've had tons of races but never this funny.

 They just acted like nothing happened and then took the next left turn. I guess a rather stock L82 only runs high 16's at this elevation if it is in good condition. My friends stock '91 LT1 4spd auto corvette only runs a 15.9. Then again the new 350Z's only run mid 15's at this elevation as well.

i've read this b4, but reading it again makes me laugh, I had a similar event happen with an early 90's vette, only one guy, after I beat him by like 3-4 cars he slowed won and got behind me and wouldn't line up again at the next red light we got together or get along side of me, it was funny!

Good stuff dude!
great to see Mirage/Colt's kickin ass!
