Post subject:  89 mirage VS Viper GTS

Long story short, ran into a Viper GTS owner at the corner gas station. It was a 99 blue hardtop. Told me he had longtubes and full true 3". Maybe some other mods. I forget now if he said he at the low 400's or 500's. We ran 3 times on the hwy. First was from 50 and he jumped 4 or 5 cars on me off the 3-honk. I scramble for traction at the top or third. Shift to forth and I'm catching up. We shut it down because of traffic. Second was from 55. The amount of time in third lost was less and he only jumped about 3 or 4 cars. Same result. Shift to forth and reel in. Shut down. Third run was from 60. Did slightly better than the second run. Lost all 3, but it was fun, and the Viper owner was impressed. Gave me props for being a fast-ass shitbox.

Car is stock motor save the metal hg and arp studs. Kumho directional street tires. 20g turbo at 18psi. Tuned at a high 10 AFR. Stock 61t trans. And I know I have intake/boost leaks.

something like a: Ready, Set, Go....

its when street racers dont have a starter to actually say GO and they agree that on the 3rd honk, they will got all out!

I prefer to nod

Used for races from a roll to give a starting point rather than waiting for someone to just hit it.

Nod's don't work for me with very dark windows, night races and the fact I like to be looking down the road even before the race starts.

yes, i hear u on that. but i think the one doing the honkin usually has a slightly better reaction time...so i guess this is where the best out of 3 comes in cuz u can alternate the honker and the honkee roles.

down here, we dont really like the rolling races. we either stop in the middle of the highway (if its that late) or do it from any traffic light...OR just play tag, if you are in front, either pull up alongside, blow by, bumper them a lil or just flash lights....

heck if u're THAT fast, then you can catch me, if not, dont bother!

my brother has a ram srt 10 with similar mods.. can't wait to finish the 63t swap so he can wonder why he wasted 40 grand on a performance truck!
