First race that actually meant something. Me, my g/f, and my friend shane were riding out of lacrosse when after we got off the exit ramp, we see an 06 Monte SS drive by. So, I play catch up, and get along side him. I get on it to see if he wants to go, he keeps up. He nails it and I keep it in 5th, floored. He gets the jump and I just hang with him at his rear bumper. We both let off and this time I downshift to 4th. We're going 55, and he nails it even with me. He goes ahead a tiny bit, but my 14b spools right up and I start walking him, more and more as the rpm's increase.

I put a car length on him by the time I shut it down at 100. Pretty good for runnin 14psi with a ported head and 2g manifold.

What do these cars have in them? Btw, @55mph, you could have downshifted to 3rd and really ate him up

I used to go into 3rd on a roll as long as I wasnt over 80
At 80 I think I was about 6500-6800.

I would've gone to 3rd, but my synchro's are going out in the tranny and it takes forever to get it into gear abouve 5500 or so.

The 06 SS has a 303 hp V8. And why has this got to be a joke?

Because it's an AUTOMATIC tank. Although he has 300 HP you shouldve eaten him ALIVE. If it were something like a Vette, I'd say that you're chances for walking him wouldve been greatly reduced as their auto trannies are built for performance shifting.
