I raced my roommate's RB20det-powered S13 coupe over a month ago.

I walked away from him a couple times from a ~35mph roll.

Here's what he's runnin:
RB20DET
huge FMIC
Greddy eManage
Blitz electronic boost controller @15psi
3" downpipe and exhaust
HKS intake
Spec stage 3 clutch
Fidanza flywheel
SSR forged 16x7 and 16x8 Integral A2 w/225/40-16 Toyo Proxes T1S
HKS drift spec coilovers
various Cusco bars

Here's what it looks like (and what my car used to look like in the background:

Good sh*t Scott!

Be careful though. Bigger rear tires, more PSI and bigger Cajones means he'll get your @$$ sooner or later. That RB motor is a beeeyotch when it has the right parts :o

TRUE! But I'm not worried. His stock turbo is dying a slow death. Plus, by the time he's upgraded, I will have, too. I've finally decided to go fmic (only due to tire clearance issues), and I'll soon have not only much better piping, but a better flowing head. Cams, too. Then it'll be time for a bigger turbo.

You forgot to post this, he forgot to paint the front of his car. Like a match made in heaven. :partyman:

Car looks super hot. But i most ask if that is his first Spec clutch? My friend has ran them in his Bluebird(SR20DET) powered NX2000 and he blow them to pieces without even pushing that much power.

Yeah, it's his first. He doesn't really do any hard drag launches though...so it's lasted him a while. Also, it's a stage 3, so it should be able to stand up to a lot of abuse.

Negative. It's a 2.0L straight six, called RB20DET. Related to the RB25/26 though. Stock it's about 200hp. He's dynoed at over 230rwhp. Forgot to mention he has LSD too.

And I just talked to him....turns out he's getting a bigger turbo with his tax refund. DAMNIT! So I'll probably be outclassed for a while. Oh well.

Nice kill dude. You don't see many S13's with that swap; in fact, i've never seen one before. Very cool. That's a neat little motor I must admit, looks like it could be set up to be quite the revver. Needs more video.

Yeah, it's definitely a sweet motor. I can't wait til he goes with a bigger turbo. He's got ARP head studs, and a strong headgasket, plus a GT-R fuel pump and injectors, ready to go. Oddly enough, there are several RB20-powered 240s here in Augusta. RBs are really cheap now (complete motor sets going for <$1000). All you need is a set of custom motor mounts, and a custom downpipe (both can be found online now). BUT, the SR20 is still better IMO...because the RB w/tranny is something like 150lbs heavier than the SR w/tranny!

I'm going to try to find some videos of the car. My roomate is one hell of a drifter, so I'm sure there's some floating around of him slidin that mofo.

Makes sense, the RB is probably iron block where-as the SR20 is all aluminum. In someplace like Georgia I'd probably opt for the RB swap, because smogging the car isn't really an issue. Out here in Cali you have to beware of smog nazis wherever you go, it sucks. :-?

Odd, I knew there were rb20det's. I always assumed it was a 4 cylinder version of the rb25/rb26. That thing would be a real rev'er with a larger turbo and some cam's. Good kill anyhow.
