I was invited over for a poker night, and was told to bring the cute colt.
So i did!
I get there, and my buddy is waiting in his Monte Carlo, 350Block w/ 327 heads, some kind of cam, shiny intake thingy, carb spacer, blah blah all the big v8 type of power adders. He has run a best of 13.7@100mph with too tall a slick(27.5"x11"x15").
I figure, what the hay, so we had three runs, all from a 40mph roll. I always let him start cuz it takes him a second to make the tranny shift. I follow in second, and hammer the gas, blip the clutch and im burning tires instantly(16psi boost tonight), by the top of second, we are neck and neck, i hit third, start gaining a car length, by the end of fourth, i must have had 5 cars on him.
2nd run, was like the first.
The third and last run , i played with him, and just stuck side by side with him till 100mph, then i let off (i even let off the gas a couple times during just so he can hear my bov!)
He wouldnt let it go, i just told him, "you're faster, lets head back and play poker".
My point is, i know the colt is quick, just not on paper or at the track.
Last weekend, i had a best of 15.08@96mph w a 2.7 60'. And now here i am keeping up with a consistent high 13's v8?!
My buddy now respects the colt, finally, it only took him two years to say it.
IF it was from a standstill, i would stand no chance. Even with him running his all season's(forgot to check his street tire size.)
I cant get mine out of the hole.
I think tonight i made him get on the ball to finish his big block 400 to transplant and replace the typical 350 setup he has.
