Last nite I hung out with a buddy and some of the local V-8 guys. It was a long nite(3:30 am), but the colt opened a few eyes and got some positive comments.
After watching some races and then with a lull , the starter says to me and buddy, why don't you two run. Friend has a '88 Iroc with a built motor and trans(auto), supposedly putting out 425 hp, but he lost although just by inches to a stock(?) '02 SS Camaro. Uh, okay, so we line up and He did not get in front of the 4g61t! I know I had him 'cause he wouldn't comment after the run, but it was called a draw.
Next run was against a Sonoma with 5.7 litre and 5-speed. It was really loud and was squirrely every shift with lots of tire smoke, but I had him by a fender!!!
Last run was against K-towns fastest b16a turbo. It's lightened and with slicks runs low 12's. I held my own, but wheelhop lost me ground and just couldn't gain it back. Lost by about 4 lengths. Oh well, it was fun.
