I know its a dumb question, but my friend has a 1996 ford contur 4 door sedan. he has a zetec motor (im assuming its a 2.0) and an automatic trans. He denys i can beat him, especially when he rode in the colt for the first time(not running well at all, low on tranny fluid) Now I have a 1987 colt turbo premier(sedan 4 door)automatic with the a/c belt out and the intake silencer out and some weight removed, a/c core and rear luggage rack. also just a downpipe then a hollowed out cat. do you guys think i can beat him?? also what about an early 90s manual explorer v-6? |

He's gonna run in the 17s on a quarter mile run with the zetec motor. At best he will run 16.50s. Who do you think will win? |

I dont know who will win, i don't know what my car'll do in the quarter. does anyone have specs on the contours h/p? I cant wait till i get my liscnse then i can get a job and save for something w/ a 4g63t!! |

This post is kinda useless don't you think? A 4 dour auto angainst a contour. Ask about a swapped out motor with a turbo beating a nsx or something but not about 2 lawnmowers racing. If it takes more than 16 sec to do the 1/4 it is not racing it is trying to keep up with traffic.

c'mon i want the colt name to be respected at both ends of the spectrum. I am in the process of moving up through the ranks. I paid 350 for the car, and another 480 for the transmission. 830 isn't bad for a running turbo. I think ill beat him. |

Just make sure you get him off the line and get everything running tip top. Maybe lighten the car up a bit by removing some unwanted crap...like the interior. Any kind of weight reductions will make every power upgrade that much more effective. |
