I've been looking for OEM repalcement springs as I wanted to replace the blown struts but can't find any, even in the specialty stores!

Does anyone know of any cheap replacement, if so what are they, where can you get them and how much do they cost! I was going to use them in conjuction with Monroe Sensatrac Struts front (Canadian Tire sale about $90CDN/ea) and rear (about $60CDN/ea).

Regards,

Dave

Colt stuff is disco'd mostly. Try getting windshield wiper linkages, no luck.

As far as not wanting to pay dealer prices, well how bad do you want the springs?

Why replace the springs anyway? Are yours shot? ANy junkyard will have colt springs if you are really hard up.

or you could just grab a set of used awd dsm springs. They're slightly stiffer, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not sure about that. I've never used them. But there really isn't that much of a difference in spring rates, so I can't imagine it being too much.

I bought awd springs from the dealer last year. Not sure about the front but the rears were $49 each (shop price), I could look it up.
BTW, the stock awd springs dropped the colt 2"(rear only). The fronts were cut, 2 coils =2" drop(looks nice but bouncy ride, 1 coil would have been enough).

Are the linkages the actual winshild wiper arms or the internal ones below the hood? If you need it badly can probably find ones at the local wrecker for you?

I thought that the springs where different on turbo and non turbo hatch backs? Can anyone clarify this? As I was able to find a 93 colt hatchback in the local wrecker.

Thanks,

Dave
