Is there any other parts needed when doing the 4G63 swap into a 4spd car or is it the same parts needed as the 5spd cars??

I ask because I just bought an 89 Colt yesterday. Its has 180k and the tranny/engine have never been rebuilt, they are very tired and need replacing so I thought I would just go for the 4G63. I assume that the lists I found on the internet and in the archives are for the 5spd cars since there seems to be more of those.

Thanks for info!!

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure you'll need a tranny from a 4G6x motor.

I'd get a KM210 or use the F5M33 from the FWD 1G's if I were you, I don't know if the 4 spd will bolt up but my senses say NO.

Ok..... my bad, I should have been more clear with my question.

I know I need these things (this list is from the archive),

-complete engine (injectors, turbo, manifolds, tb...)
-flywheel/clutch (from the same year engine that you are going to use)
-ecu
-DSM wiring harness
-DSM tranny(or mirage turbo tranny)
-Mirage Turbo timing belt mount
-Mirage Turbo rear metal mount
-Complete Mirage Turbo transmission mount
-MPI relay
-DSM starter
-Injector resistor pack from DSM
-upgraded fuel pump

I was just making sure I dont need more things because my car is a cable opperated (I think) 4spd. I was assuming they were the same but I would like to know for sure.

Thanks!!

Sounds like you have a KM200 transaxle in there (4-speed version of the KM201 5-speed). That is ok but not desirable. It will still bolt up to the 4G63 using the smaller flywheel. 5th gear would be a liability in that situation in any case since a 4G63T would probably break 5th gear in short order from the extra torque (known to happen).

The hydraulics of a '92 colt would work if you can get the master cylinder installed. I think all the holes are there to mount, might need to modify the pedal to accept the push rod. Not sure of any other cars that would work.
