Im looking to get some new wheels/tires. my goal is traction. Right now I have some 205's on a 6 inch rim with 1/4in spacers. Im looking to run 225s on a proper sized rim (7.5in). Everything Ive read so far points to it being possible but people are running 225s on a 6 inch rim. Does anybody have experience with a wider rim/tire? This is going on an 89 colt gt

I had 225/50/15 (or 55/15) on a 6.5 inch wheel, and looked fantastic.

Im not worried about looks but rather performance. I feel like stretching a 225 over a small rim defeats the purpose of a larger contact patch.

They were really nice and square. None of the "squish" look that stock wheels give.
