I Have the JMF laying around and am curious if you guys think it will do more harm than good? This is on a 16g with supporting mods, will probably run around 20psi.

if u have the stock 61 head.. then no it will lose power as the ports are smaller on the 61 head.... now to make it faster... put a 1.8 head on it.. it bumps comp up .4... and has the larger 1g style ports..then u can use the intake..

I'd say it's a pointless thing to do if you're just on a 16g

Sounds like a larger turbo frame type mod because it really shines on high boost with massive air flow.

IF you already have the 1.6 head in place, the 1.8 head will keep the compression the same. You could always use the 2G head and it will keep increased velocity just like the stock 1.6 head does.

I think you will have torque loss if you use that manifold, without seeing where it truly shines ... and at very high RPM.

What are the goals for the motor? and how is the car going to be used?

Thanks guys, I totally forgot about the mismatch. I have a 1.8 head on the shelf I may swap in later.

Those are just my impressions as I'm not a guru bench racer with imperical data to back it up. We're just aware that certain parts are engineered for a certain purpose, so we don't want you outside of those limits unless you like the bling factor. But we know you only like the bling attached to your hubs. wink wink

I have to admit, I do like my bling.

Not worth it for how shitty your car will drive after you install that thing...even if you do upgrade the head it's still not necessary.

Don't want to repeat others. Just think of that gains you would see swapping in the 1.8 head and running with matching IM & EM all alone, now compared to losing all of that potential power gain because of the huge racing manifold on there. I know that plenty of people would say stock IM worked great with a way bigger turbo even.

This has me thinking of building myself a 4g67 head now.

Well the manifold is sold already, going to buy some ksports. Money better spent me thinks?

I got in touch with a suspension maker recently, just need to confirm some details with the possibility that CB and CC suspensions are identical in terms of FWD setups, and we have a starting point for some really nice stuff. I will be starting another thread about that soon. Ksports will tide you over and give you height adjustability, but I think although quite expensive (with great resale value), the stuff I am looking into will be the final measure for some time to come.
