so i'm stripping a hatch right now, and i'm supposed to grab the manual seatbelt bits for cheaptalon. i sent him a message on facebook, but he hasn't got back to me, and i need to scrap this thing yesterday. i also did a quick search, but all i could find was threads on the sedan belt swap. i know i need the belts themselves, the loops at the floor and the buckles, and the A pillar/upper front trim, and i assume i also need the B pillar/C pillar upper plastic as well.

BUT, do i need the lower plastics as well? the ones on either side of the back seat?

I just did a swap on my Galant and the belts run through the lower plastics. I am not sure if it's like that on a Mirage but I would say its pretty similar and that they go with the manual belts.

I can't see the ones being needed at the back seat and the belt system runs up the front of the B-Pillar.

I think the rear seat trims are completely separate as I was just cleaning mine the other day. Should just be the top portion that covers the B-Pillar and not the base part that
comes out near the latch striker and curls around the bottom of the sill.

Only a picture from a US, in this area, will confirm this, or confirming the actual part numbers on the parts as either the same (not needed to swap) or different (will need them for a swap).

Too bad I don't have Chrysler parts acccess, because then I could look up Canadian models versus US models. Not sure ASA differentiates the auto seat belt and not, because it is the USDM version we use IIRC.

Gosh it would be nice to have the manual seat belt swap. Is that whole setup pretty hard to come by? I take its only out of the canadian spec cars.

I just did it on the cheap. I didn't replace any trim panels at all. I just cut that hole and that's it.

That's probably the best thing to do. I would recommend using some sort of rolled/round edge trim to keep the belt from rubbing on the leading edge area of the plastic.

Guys that don't want to replace panels or modify from stock looking, this is the way to go.

I have some in my basement. I pulled them for someone years ago who later flaked out. I have both sedan and hatch belts/parts. They are not the standard gray ones. Red for the hatch, blue for the sedan. Canadians got alot of of the econo models.

Shipping these parts sucks. Especially the hatch ones as the one A-B pillar panel is pretty big and fragile. Shipping is also expensive and is probably hard to justify and commit to.

If they want it, they will pay.

They should try living up here where we do and paying for parts to come from the US, or worldwide. With our dollar pricing.

Looking for a set still. Hatch and grey preferred.

Once you replace one piece of trim you have to replace it all. None of the US trim matches up with the Canadian trim. And after you replace the trim above the door the US head liner is too short and is just hanging out on the edges.

Another thing about the Canadian seat belt's. Wasn't there a recall on them ? I had one come unbuckled on a passenger avoiding a deer.
