Spends Too Much Time Under The Hood

Did some quick searching but didn't find what I was looking for. Just want a quick verification from a couple people that have installed these. I need to order a new pair of hubs and need them to still be 4 lug. What are my options for hubs? I'm assuming 92-95 Expo and maybe 90-91 Galant VR-4? Were the VR-4s captive or non-captive rotor? I only ever owned a 1g Talon and 1g Eclipse, both of which were non-captive obviously but 5 lug. Thanks in advance!

Looking ahead, I've searched Rock Auto and Advance Auto Parts for front hubs from a 1993 Expo and both only carry the rears. Anyone know where I could get Expo hubs if those are indeed the way I need to go? I'll continue my search in the mean time. Thanks guys!

lots of guys on gvr4 forums switch to 5 lug hubs. with no one switching to 4 lug I sure some would love to turn some into cash.

^^ That!

Also, try a little search of Ebay. helped out a member posting on FB, who needed a set of front hubs in the 4x114.3 Seems they also made that same hub for the Accent in 1999 or something to that effect. Means it will be around for some time, or we can find it in the yards once again, very shortly.

You can get them on base model 6g galants too. Let me know if you want a pair. GVR4's are non captive but all did have abs. I'd dodge those hubs if I could because its a pain to swap out a stud if one ever breaks.

I did a quick eBay search and came up with the following possible options. Could you take a quick peek and let me know if these look similar to what you found for the person you helped out on FB? I'm skeptical of the cheap price on the one option, but I want to first make sure the application will work. Plus, it saves Chris from digging around in the yard for me :D

I really just need the hub since I've already pressed in a new bearing and seals in my Expo spindles. I'd rather go with new parts if possible, but wanted to get some feedback from those who've been down this road or are in the know about this. As always, thanks in advance for the help guys!

the first link you posted was what I found on Ebay too. 1999 Accent.

Have to ask debow_8787 about what he ended up getting from Ebay (if he went that route) and how that all worked out.

He wanted the hubs to turn down and use as a non-captive setup.

As of yet, we cannot confirm if the hub face is setup to fit a CSM and get machined down to fit the Galant rotors/brake calipers over. Likely it crosses over, but ask the guy we pointed in this direction and see what he came up with.

Those hubs you linked won't fit your Expo knuckles. You need Expo or Galant hubs. The ones in the links are replacements for the stock CSM captive setup with the two seperate tapered roller bearings.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't think the Expo came in 4 lug configuration, so please correct me if I'm wrong. I've had trouble finding new front hubs for the 6g Galant. Looks like I'll be asking Chris for another favor unless anyone knows of a source for these. I'd certainly prefer new parts but if they're not readily available then used will have to do. Again, thanks for the feedback and help on this. I appreciate it!

92-94 expo (FWD/AWD) had 4x114/4.5" configuration.

If you cant find them, get a 5 bolt hub and re-drill 3(?) of the the stud holes.

Those are a good deal. I'd remove the abs rings though, they make changing out a broken stud a nightmare.
