Just out of curiosity, has anyone done a 4g37 swap on a 4g15. i'm not meaning just the throttle body, ecu, & injectors. would the engine wiring just plug right in?? |

Not that I know of but my guess is that it will simply drop right in. I guess the question is why. If I had a 4g37 that was sitting in the corner that ran perfectly and my 4g15 blew up I could see it. If I had to go out and buy it I'd just do a 63/64 swap. |

I've got a 4g37 eclipse and want to do a 4g63t swap on my eclipse and the engine harness won't just plug in.if the 4g15 and 4g37 are direct drop in then i could just find adapter plugs for the 4g15 to 4g63t on here. |

Why wouldn't you just find a DSM harness and ECU? Those are amazingly easy to find.

the 4g37 harness isn't the same harness as the 4g63....so if the 4g37 in a mirage is a drop in plug in swap. why not utilize the plug adapter? |

Actually the dash plugs on the 1g are the same. Just get a 4G63T engine harness and plug it right in to your current dash harness. Just make sure its from a manual car if yours is manual and note that the 90's are slightly different in case you have a 90. As far as the 4G37 if you have one then sure, swap away. I'm betting it'll be a 100% plug and play deal since the 4G15 and 4G37 use the same style sensors. Again, assuming you're not dealing with a 90 model. |

Could you use the engine harness from the 1.5 on the 1.8? |

For the most part the 4g37 (1.8 sohc in eclipse and Mitsu vans) and 4g63 (2.0sohc version in galant, mitsu vans, and elantra) should be identical in electrics; as people have done plug/play ecu/injector/maf swaps to 4g15's for each with success. So as the engines are electrically almost the same, you might have to solder/heatshrink some connectors over, but for the most part they should be plug/play. I say "should" because no body I know of has done the 1.8/2.0 sohc swap into a csm. Some other things to think about would be mounts and upgrade path. Not much knowledge/aftermarket parts are specifically catered for those engines. Hope this helps! |

Have you considered the engine and transmission mounts? |
