Hey guys my friend has a auto talon and he is looking for a place to have it rebuilt/built. We are located in southern new jersey. Any info would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for the info. My buddy called them today and they said it would be 2650 just for the rebuild. So he is going to look for alternate routes. He was looking to get a higher stall converter a shift kit and the end clutch or clutch end which ever it is so that could add another 1000 to 2000. We also heard of another shop called jacks trans so if anyone has any insight about there that would be great.

you never stated what his plans for the car are.. just a daily.. or a race car..

for just a stock rebuild most local trans shops can do them for 400-800.... if its for performance u can buy a full race one from IPT for about 3200 i think it was last I checked.. thats shift kit..welded center diff the whole 9 yards.. and yes a good converter will be another 800+ depending on what he gets... if its just a DD i would go with a local shop and keep the stock converter tho.

I said rebuilt/built because the trans doesn't shift properly so he wanted to know that the trans was perfect hence getting the rebuild and then adding the end clutch the higher stall converter and the shift kit. But to answer your question he is building it for a race car not a dd. 400-800 is alot better then the price he was given. So maybe he should just have the trans rebuilt at a normal trans shop and then get the performance parts from ipt to make the trans strong. Seems that's the only way to save little money. But thanks again for the info.

Remember with IPT you are dealing with guys that specialize in DSM auto transmissions. If you deal with Joe Blow down the street that usually works on chevrolets you're not going to get the same quality work.

There are a few local guys around here using 100% stock auto transmissions with just a higher stall, shift kit and shift boxes and they are flying. Not sure he'd even need a BUILT auto trans. They seem to be pretty stout from the factory.
