Obviously the rack itself, the pump, the reservoir, the pressure hose and return hose, a belt, some kind of cooler wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Also keep in mind the turbo model had a better ratio steering rack. If you can get one.

LancerProject was using a 4th gen steering rack, because it came standard with the turbo gear ratio IIRC.

To be confirmed ....

Not worth it unless you do a lot of >10mph driving in parking lots.

Im not saying this is right but I got a honda buddy that just runs a power steering rack with no pump. He just put fluid in it and says he changes it sometimes.

Im happy my car is non power steering other than the ratio.

You can't buy one new. You may be able to find a remanufactured steering rack, but you'll need a core to exchange, otherwise you'll get charged a lot of money for it. You'd be better off finding someone parting out a car and getting the steering rack from it.

Looks like the racks are interchangeable, from a visual standpoint, likely they bolt in and depending upon the ration, would work.

Don't quote me but I can't find my convo with Mr. LancerProject, but he was talking about using a steering rack with the same ratio as the turbo's.

If you find a rack in this generation that bolts up, the tie rods could be swapped, if that is even needed, and you can get a better ratio.

I'd love to do this to my Subaru Legacy right now, because a 90 degree turn means having to lock arms in one direction, wheres that wouldn't have to happen with my Colt. I'm sure I would have to swap in an Impreza rack or something of the sort. Because Subaru is apparently like Legos or something.

Anywho, there are options ringing in the back of this old brain. Cobwebs getting tugged on dating back to 2004, and some time recently.
