Hi ,

I'm working on my CSM 3rd gen suspension ; KYB AGX (1G DSM) plus ground control coil over.

I wonder, for those who have worked on a ground control suspension, did you reduce the bump stop as suggested on the DSM suspension ? The bump stop on the "CSM" does not appear exactly the same as a DSM ... so I'm not sure if I should cut it or not.

Does someone have something to share about “too much” or “not enough” bump stop length ?

This is what GC suggested to cut from the bump stop :

Yes. Trim the bumpstop. You will need a lower ride height on the strut than an awd dsm will.

I was running the same setup on my car, I actually just switched to regular kyb shocks up front for a mirage. But for the bump stops I just cut the first bottom section off of mine.

Another question :

Did you conserve the original "rubber" into the rear top plate suspension + the GC rubber ? They seems to work fine together but I'm not sure...

The Isolator ring at the top is to keep the springs from making noises, the jounce bumper is to keep the shock body from contacting the upper plate under full compression.
I think you need both.

The new bump stops seem much stiffer, so a shorter one/modified one may be fine.

I have lots of noises at the rear of my car from the exhaust that taps the frame at the through frame/hump area before the pipe turns into the muffler.
Also have noises under full compression from the rear. Once I can isolate and keep my exhaust from hitting the frame, I can tell you if cut rear stock OEM bump stops are fine or not in this regard.
This is with OEM GR2's and BG 1.6"+ drop springs.
