Hey guys! I just bought set of Toyo Proxes R888 for my Colt, 2 are 205/50/15 and the other pair 225/50/15, I still have the stock suspension and I don't have future plans for a bigger turbo, right know I'm running a Big 16g and in the future I want to replace it with a Big T28, the main question it's if I decide to sell one pair of these which pair should I kept for my Colt?

Depends what you want to do and what size rim you have.

If you have a 6.5-7" rim most autoXers will tell you to go with the 205 any wider go with the 225. If you're looking for general traction on the street or straight line go with the bigger 225. Offset matters too if you're worried about fitment 225 may rub.

Just from a speedometer accuracy standpoint, here are the factory tire specs for a turbo car:
195/60-R14

So, upsize +1 takes it to 205/50-R15.

I' curious about fitment also, so I'm subscribed. 15x6.5" is what I'm looking to adopt.

Thanks guys, Im wearing the 5 spoke oz rally wheels which i think they are 15x7 right? Today i went to the tire shop and decide to install the 205s, since like Nocturnal said the 225 may rub, would you consider a big difference on traction between these two?? I still have the other set in case i change my mind, i get you some pictures later...

I think they are 6" wide and about a +46 offset (best suited for a 205).. a 225 may rub on the inner frame rail area but every tire is sized different from the manufacture so no one can tell you for sure. Since those are track tires and are likely wider than most 225s I would say the chances of rubbing is a little higher. Also the 205 is slightly smaller in diameter at .8" than the 225, so if you like shorter gearing then the 205 will be best for you since you are not making big power yet. The foot print of the 205 is 8.07 to the 225s 8.86 which is a about a 9% difference, a difference most people wont notice unless they track their car very often. One more thing, a 225 on a 6 or 6.5" width wheel will have more side wall flex and is less desirable for handling feed back and feel. In this situation the only benefit I see in a 225 is straight line. The best thing you can do is just try it out and report back.

BTW if you plan to sell those 225s and are willing to ship I may be interested

Go 225. They dont rub even when lowered. The more meat you can grt under there the better. Even with a 16g.
