We just discussed this not too long ago.

Why do you need such an absurd throttle body? I have a stock 1G TB and 2.5" piping and I'm making well over 900 at the motor.

thanks for the link, & to answer your question I had the intake & throttle body laying around the house so I am just going to run it

Well if the link doesn't help, and you can't get some type of elbow made to relocate the throttle body I would just scrap the idea and take a different route. Don't want to mess with safety and brakes.

Oh I know, after talking to a few guys they said riding without a brake booster is scary if you need to stop the car quick

Looks like a 45* coupler will make it, have one laying around you can try?

Yeah that would work for me.

Just to give people an idea of what a non functioning booster would feel like (and obviously not designed to work this way due to the obvious lack of leverage assist), when your car stalls whilst driving and you are forced to pull over, you get about 1-2 pumps before the vacuum reserve/assist is depleted and you now have 1:1 low ratio, non assisted braking versus 4:1 (lower 3:1 [base model C52a] or higher ratio 6:1 [3000GT]), as would be standard in the turbo Colts/Mirages and 92-95 Elantras.

I am thinking of an idea.

I went outside & looked at my 2g, the booster is not attached to the reservoir, its just connected by rubber hoses & mounted elsewhere. I am thinking of possibly trying to swap them. Brakes are foreign to me so who knows what might happen.

Im already running that setup. No matter what you do with boosters, nothing bigger than 2.5" pipe and a stock TB is going to work.

Isn't that what this whole thread is about? And the linked thread?

Your setup is not going to clear the brake master and booster (any combination of any mitsubishi parts) unless you have a transition pipe welded together that puts the throttle body above the transmission, in the lower right corner of the master cylinder or run a stock throttle body and 2.5" pipe or smaller.

Here are some pictures. This is with the thinnest booster you will find that bolts in (93-96 mirage) and a 2G AWD master cylinder.

Thanks man I appreciate all the help & dealing with my sometimes open ended questions. I have decided to just get a manifold flanged for a 1g TB & use that. My old manifold setup cleared just fine.

on my frh intake, i used the stock turbo tb, and ended up cutting a 2.5" 90 right in the bend and welding to a flange i made. it all cleared evertying and the uicp ended up being around 22"... year it was a pain to take apart later with studs, so i switched to bolts in the intake and made everthing easier on myself.

You could delete but do your research first, manual brakes will require more pedal effort and you must change the geometry of the pedal and the sizing of the master/masters
This is my setup .. Still trying to get it right
