Stumbled across this.. https://secure.buschurracing.com/catalo ... ts_id=1268 I don't see how that is a proper set-up. Why would you want to recirculate catch debris back into your oil? My current catch can actually catches very little oil, it's mostly condensation or gassy oil that I would never want to go back into my oil supply. I picture my self dumping my catch can catchings back into my oil pan with this method

This is the quote I'm mainly referring to "Last and the most important feature of the can is the 4th port for returning the oil that gets into the catch can back to your oil pan where it belongs."

I can see maybe having 2 catch cans with one running off of the dipstick tube for extra venting though. Am I the only one that sees something wrong with this, the Evom guys seem to like it :-s

a catch can is designed to let out the built up back pressure in the crankcase... not to catch oil debris... if you look at a bone stock eclipse motor.. the hose comming off the end of the valve cover goes back into the intake pipe.. when the turbo spools up it builds up suction inside the intake pipe (pre turbo).. if you cut that hose in the middle... valve cover side goes to the can.. intake pipe side goes to the can also.. what this does is act like a breather filter and it catches oil so it doesnt go into the turbo...

if you have ever taken a stock rubber intake pipe off and it was filled with oil inside... that is caused from too much crankcase pressure.. and no can to catch the oil..

hope this makes sense?

Steve

I couldn't think of any good reason to run that back into the pan.

I guess what I meant by debris is degraded oil and water from condensation. I fully understand how the factory PCV system works.

Agree'd. Catch-can oil is only good for dumping
