Post subject:  NEED HELP! out of ideas on front end shake

ok so before the rebuild I developed a shake when turning left under acceleration. The shake only occurs with left hander but I cant tell if its the right or left wheel that shakes. after rebuilding the stuff listed below it has started shaking on bumps and still on left turns. The suspension is K-sport coilovers with adjustable camber plates,

Things I replaced 3 weeks ago:
Left ball joint (old one was shot)
Left axle with a 1 piece Mirage turbo piece (old one was shot) [no its not the two piece and was the same as the one I had before with no issues]
left wheel bearing and seals (old was shot to hell)

Left and right tie rod ends
Left and right sway bag end bushings

Aligned the car professionally at my usual place and had the front rims re balanced...
Both axels have no side to side shake and the right wheel bearing and ball joint are fine. the wheels steer together and there is very little play in the steering... F'in stumped guys

After replacing all of this the damn car still shakes when turning left and on big bumps. other than replacing the steering rack and inner tie rods Im not sure what else to do... thinking inner tie rods but they seem to check ok. ANYONE GOT ANY IDEA? or if your in SoCal we can meet for a test drive to try and figure out what it could be :partyman:

Have you replaced the wheel bearings? Does it make noise, or just shake? You feel it in just the steering wheel, or the entire car? Checked all the suspension bushings to make sure they're ok?

Left wheel bearing was just replaced and the right is tight. no noise just shaking, I dont feel it in the steering wheel just feel it from the front end. the suspension has no bushing lower coilover mounts bolt directly to the knuckle and the upper is a pillow ball mount. If your reffering to the sway bar bushings they are new. the lower control arm bushings are original but shouldnt be the problem since they look decent shape. like I said im stumped...

come down and take a drive tonus i know your close lol ill buy ya some beer

I keep thinking an axle is too long for the distance it is supposed to inhabit. Bumps push the knuckles somewhat inward, and when the car leans, things push over even more. I vote an axle is too long and binding, so what you feel is the tripot/rzeppa's inducing their frequency into the drivetrain/frame. Seized axles pieces are more common on Subaru's and induce low speed vibrations that are not tire related, and I've felt them. It was mainly straight line and yes, it was an unmistakable feeling from the drivers seat.

You had one mount not even connected before IIRC? That solved properly now? What mounts and or inserts are installed?

Ok. Has Kris felt it yet?

We're gonna be down at Qualcomm next Friday.

No be hasn't and now can't. Unfortunately today she started blowing bluish smoke out the exhaust after a short 10psi pull. Hoping the turbo seal is to blame but a leak down test will give a good answer

I'm with flying eagle on this one. Put a couple millimeters worth of spacers between your transmission mount and the frame rail.

Well honestly I'm not sure what IIRC stands for but before I had all the mounts secure. After I pulled the engine a year ago the front roll stop never got a bolt installed and not even two months ago I found that and that the trans mount to the rail was loose and had about a quarter inch gap. Now after putting the engine back in the trans and engine mounts are in and secure but the front engine roll stop has been removed because of turbo clearance problems. I will look more into this but she is down right now for something I have not checked yet. Ill get back to you

Ummmm, no front roll stop at all?

You definitely need one, then go from there.
Modifying one so that it fits, and keep the engine from rotating/twisting, is the bare minimum before going any further. IIRC means if I remember correctly.

Coltsfan has a great idea about the spacing if nothing else is changed.
I got weird vibes when I had weak mounts in my old K car, and was doing parking lot doughnuts in reverse; engine would ground out on the frame.

Do you have any inserts or Solid mounts installed?

The rear roll stop is a solid mount and the trans and drivers engine mounts are prothane bushings. I'm gonna end up getting a new smaller radiator a among myself more room in the bay which will enable the front roll stop to be re installed and keep the wastegate from impacting the radiator

+3 for the axle being the problem. It's not a turbo mirage axle if it's a long 1 piece shaft on the driver's side. I told you that in your build thread.
