| Post subject: | brake booster/MC question |
I just finished my big brake upgrade install on my 92 DL hatch (non-turbo converted to 4G63 FWD). I used the expo knuckles, VR4 rotors, twin pot calipers, braided S/S brake lines, and yoshifab camber plates... ![]() ![]() ![]() The expo knuckles fit great, as well as the VR4 rotors and twin pot calipers. I adjusted the camber and the tow by eye and feel as best i could but will need to get an alignment asap. The brakes work great but the petal feels mushy and weak. once you get the petal down, the car stops amazingly. My question is what is the best bolt in booster/ MC set up to install? I need exact models and years of donor cars for this swap. I have read a few of the posts here but am not finding the answers I am looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I believe these come with a 13/16 or 7/8 master cylinder. You can get a 15/16 one off a wagon with a similar port configuration. That's what I did. Some go a 1" master cylinder. This upgrade is supposed to help How do you like those agx struts on the colt? |

You can grab a larger booster from any 92-95 Elantra, just be sure to use the spacer from the csm behind it, the elantra one is too thick. You'll see what I mean when you take it out. The elantra M/C is 7/8" I think, larger than the na csm one but prob still not ideal for those calipers. I would see if the 15/16" expo or 1" diamante, na stealth/3000gt are close to fitting. |

good upgrade, thats one of the first upgrades that i did on my colt too, except that i bought the rotors and calipers from the same aplication of the donor car (colt vista awd) maybe its not that good like vr4 brakes but way better than non vented, i had hard time trying to get it aligned by myself but i guess its fine for now |

Skip the elantra master cylinder. Bump over to a 92ish diamante master cylinder. Stiffer pedal, predictive stopping all the time. Thank me later |

I'm looking at the same issue on my car. Is the Diamante MC a direct fit, or do the lines need to be adjusted to fit it? What size is it? |

I think its 1 and a 1/16. Lines need to be tweaked a little, but not bad at all. |
