I've noticed a few guy's have attempted to remove the black/grey plastic piece around the instrument cluster. The only successful way I've found to remove this part is to take diagonal cutters/tin snips or a similar tool and cut the wires after just barely pulling it away from the dash. Unfortunately this ruins the dash harness for the next guy. Oh well.... Just my $.02 worth

i agree that seem's the only plasable way to do it... unless you are VERY carful and can unhook the wiring harnsess(yes plural as i have redefrost and hazard) othr wise CUTTING is the only way out

You can pull out those connectors I have done it several times... there is a pinch clip that holds holds it in place just pinch and pull...

remove the wires from the right side (very easy)

then try to figure out a way of rotating the bezel to get access to the back of it.

get a screw driver and remove the screws holding the swithes in place.

put some silicone spray befor putiing it back it will help this poor dry platic assy.
