Just wanted to clarify, seeing as I have access to some Laser rear springs, but they are FWD. It sounds like the spring rates are the same for the FWD laser and GT colt rear springs. I wouldn't think that should be true, but can anyone verify? Jason found the spring rates for our colt springs, but who knows stock rates for the T/E/L?

go here:
http://www.ecanfix.com/~manualcd/index2.htm

Download the 1G DSM Tech manual, (I can't do it at work) and the spring rates should be found in there. At least I think I found the mirage spring rates in the Mirage Tech manual that I have.

As for the stiff springs on the turbo mirage. The mirage was mitsubishi's attempt at making a low-buck weekend race car (ie, autox, track schools, timetrials). The 1G FWD DSM's, well they weren't designed for that. :)

Okay, here's the rates for FWD and AWD T/E/L:

Front:
AWD: 146
FWD: 134
Rear:
AWD:140
FWD:128.8

So, they're still a step up from the Colt, but it's a small step. The spring lengths are different, however, between FWD and AWD for the rears (316.5mm to 332.5 mm). Or so the book says. Will investigate.
