Kind of an odd problem....had clutch replaced this last week due to slippage-was perfect timing, just a few of the rivets were starting to get shiny. New clutch in works fine-friction point is near the same spot, and it never slips, but the pedal feel is extremely soft-so much so that the pedal almost sticks to the floor when I fully press it down for starting. Do I need to bleed my master cylinder or is there something more insidious like a return spring that popped off? :-?

Slave cylinder. Its easy to adjust. My friend did it for me and took him a few minutes. Or was it the master cylinder? not sure it was last year. But it is possible without having to bleed.

the only thing you can adjust is the pedal linkage going into the master cylinder. If its really soft then i would go ahead and try and bleed them. Maybe that would work. Hope t has nothing to do with the clutch. What kind did you put in?

The clutch is just a stock oem replacement-I believe Fenco/Dynapak makes it. The Pressure plate is a bit stiffer than stock, and I have a friend who put one on their Talon TSi and was happy with it. I've never had to adjust the master or slave cyl. Is there an official procedure? Where are they anyways? Never touched the clutch on this before....my last clutch experience was on a Fiat, one that could have been Bill Spruil's first car (okay, maybe not THAT old). I'll do a search on the forum and see what I turn up as well.

Now that it's been a few days, It has stiffened up a bit. Now it's soft, but comfortable, and doesn't stick to the floor. Musta just needed a bit of pressurizing by usage.

hey i think you need to bleed the clutch. if it is a hydralic system. it needs to be bleeded if the line came off.

So is there an quick how-to on bleeding these clutches? Is there a single point it should be done from-slave or master cyl or somewhere else. It works fine and feels better, but if it should be bled from a reliability/safety standpoint, I want to do it. Also, unless it's something that needs to come off when changing disk and press plate(which seems wrong), the line didn't come off.
