so the old guy i bought the 93 eagle summit van (aka scumvan) off of thought the starter was bad. i put a new one on today and its making the same grinding sound. its a automatic tranny. 2.4 motor is out of a 93 to 95 galant and the tranny is the stock one anyone out there know what might be the problem. im thinking he might of used the torque converter out of the galant which is front wheel drive and the scumvan is awd, would that matter? any help would be greatly appreciated

Yep, Im willing to bet that you have the wrong flexplate to match the starter and tranny on the car and its not engaging the teeth correctly.
