I bought some gvr4 wheels off of chris a few weeks ago and I want to get a set of drag radials for them. What size/brand do you guys recommend? The car will be lowered too.

I hear good things about the BFG's and the Hoosiers. BFG has a 225/50 15" which would fit real well on the GVR4 rims. I wouldn't go any larger than that, you will have fitment issues.

Wow, a 225 will fit in the wheel well with no rubbing?

Yes.

This car has 225/50 15" BFG drag radials all the way around.

My car had 225/50 15's on it for a while too, I did have rubbing issues in the rear, but the fronts were always fine.

I have a set of barely used MT drag radials that I won't be needing. I really liked them, cut .25 off my 60' consistently over street tires. I'd take them over BFG's (ran them before as well).

Yeah you lower your pressure. Every tire is different. I wouldn't lower it as much as slicks. I even lower the tire pressure on regular passenger tires when I'm at the track, even though it probably makes no difference, it makes me FEEL faster!

I had a set of bfg's and I loved them. I also had them in the same size and had no rubbing issues at all.

I ran open diff with a big16g and supporting mods my best time was a 12.7, I was spinning though 2nd and it would hook in 3rd.

I also ran a welded diff with the same setup, ran a 12.3 and it would dead hood in 2nd and have very little in 1st.

If your tire is a highway tire lowering the pressure will just cause it to cave in the middle of the tread losing lots of traction. Also unless your tire is 100% slick DO NOT go in the water. The water will collect in the treads and make a nice puddle for you to launch out of.

I was looking at a new set of tires and found:

Think that will make a nice daily driver tire with some grip to it. Ideas?

For a drag radial I also came across:

It seems pretty nice but untill I get my LSD I will just buy one :P
