Post subject: | Clutch Pedal Bracket Broken |
I just got the tranny and realized that my clutch was not disengaging. I had alot of play in the pedal and thought it needed adjustment. Then I thought that maybe we didn't bleed the clutch properly. So I notice my pedal isn't level with the brake pedal. After further investigation I come to find out that you can pretty much twist my pedal with your hand. I look up under the dash and notice that a section of the bracket is broken. The part that's broken is on the metal that turned brown right between the brake and clutch pedal. So my question is do I have to replace the whole pedal assembly or can I just replace the bracket/clutch pedal? Are the accelerator and brake a single unit? ![]() ![]() |

The clutch pedal assembly is separate on these cars although it does rest on the end of the brake pedal. |

Have you had any experience welding it? To much understanding, it'd make the material weaker. |

I sure as hell wouldn't weld it. Buy another pedal assembly from a 5spd car, they should all be the same.
