Well, a few months ago I got the symptoms of the cars front end being twitchy and the rear end of the car feeling like it wanted to oversteer going over over bumps and ripples on the road and especially while driving on the insterstate. I run 205/50/15s so I figured it would follow ripples and grooves in the road but this was a little much. I found that there was 1/8" play in both outter tierod ends so replaced them and the car tracks better but not perfect. When the cars rear moves in an upward motion going over tracks or unloads going around an exit, it still feels like the car teeters corner to corner and the outer corner gives the feeling of coming around. I put the car on a lift and checked the rear factory bushings and struts. Wheel bearings look good and dont make noise. There is no slack in the stabilizer arm or trailing arms. Shocks seem to compress and rebound correctly. The stock springs are really soft but pass the push down/release test while on the ground. Could one rear shock cause this if it was failing but not leaking? One last thing, the lighter the car is in the rear, the worse it gets. If I run atleast 3/4 tank and have my toolbox in the back the problem is greatly reduced. Is the weight in the rear reducing the problem, or is it the rear suspension being compressed decresing the problem? Im not getting any popping from the upper rear shock mounts or rear suspension binding noises.

Have you checked the alignment? Maybe something is bent in the rear. If the rear toe is off it would feel screwy in the back on turns and rough pavement.

Probably have some weak shock absorbers. The rear wheels/axle may be doing a dance up and down when you are cornering or even straight lining and hitting bumps. If all else is tight and alignment is good on the front end/rear end, there is only one thing left to replace.

Its possible the toe in needs looked into. The stock 13" tires wore even up until I put the galant rims on it last summer and since then prob 15k miles, the Falken tires are wearing good also. It just got a little worse and worse over time since last year and the tie rod ends didnt cure it all the way. The steering is really tight and tracks straight. The rear shocks seems like something to look into. Maybe one is going bad since it seems the rear always wants to sway and kick out to the passenger side. Maybe between the soft springs and the soft shocks im having this problem. The car has never boon in an accident or been jacked up improperly.
