I just got the tranny and realized that my clutch was not disengaging. I had alot of play in the pedal and thought it needed adjustment. Then I thought that maybe we didn't bleed the clutch properly. So I notice my pedal isn't level with the brake pedal. After further investigation I come to find out that you can pretty much twist my pedal with your hand. I look up under the dash and notice that a section of the bracket is broken. The part that's broken is on the metal that turned brown right between the brake and clutch pedal.

So my question is do I have to replace the whole pedal assembly or can I just replace the bracket/clutch pedal? Are the accelerator and brake a single unit?

The clutch pedal assembly is separate on these cars although it does rest on the end of the brake pedal.

Have you had any experience welding it? To much understanding, it'd make the material weaker.

I sure as hell wouldn't weld it. Buy another pedal assembly from a 5spd car, they should all be the same.
