Post subject:  non turbo trans with 1.5l

I need to know if the non turbo 2.0l trans with work with 1.5l engine 5spd. my trans took a shit but i have access to a 2.0 n/a trans from a 89 galant any help would be appreaited

I believe you can make them mate together you will need your 1.5 clutch disc and pressure plate althogh the linkage is slightly different you should me able to mod it to fit.

WHAT ABOUT THE STARTER TO FLYWHEEL TEETH.WHICH ONE DO I USE. THE 1.5L OR 2.0L :o

I think you will have a problem getting the stock driveshafts to fit the KM206.

I CAN GET THE GALANTS DRIVESHAFT WILL THAT WORK. I SHOULD SAY I NHAVE THAT ALSO AS AN OPTION.

No you cant use Galant driveshafts since they are too long and have the wrong outer joint which will not fit the hub knuckle. You must make up some hybrid axles from both vehicles.

oh ok. so i cannot get the galant to work. but i cannot use use 1.5l. that is goping to suck. what about a 1.8l trans???? :cry:

found out it was not my trans.... go figure. i almost replaced a GOOD part of the car. found out after taking the Clutch .. what was left of it out. that it was shot to hell. no friction material at all. now i am a happy camper. just about to bleed to s/c so i can drive her. :lol:
