Loop back your lines. If you just cap them or leave them open, you can damage them for future use.

Or any base model will have a non ps rack. They don't look too hard to swap out.

Well since you have an elantra, elantra or 3g CSM's racks should fit. I'm guessing on the CSM thing, but from my experience almost everything is interchangeable chassis wise, between the 3g csm's and the elantra.

I would grab a rack from an elantra just to be safe. The csm one may fit but then again it may not. I've tried certain elantra parts that bolt right up and then again some of them are off by just enough that they won't work.

Untrue, I have a Elantra steering rack in my Colt and the outer tie rods have a different taper and are too small for a GT spindle. So make sure you stick with the proper rack for you car and if you wanna remove power steering take the rack apart and preform the flyin miata mod on the rack. link here : http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/depower.php?x=1

If you need any tips I can help you out I have done this mod and its amazing,

Making sure to remove inner tie rods and outer

The rack can be taken apart at the passenger side by removing the boot and under the boot there is a small rubber strap remove this to expose the slot in which the locking ring needs to be removed from. If you look closely at the end of the rack there are 4 holes I used a pair of pliers to spin this till the end of the locking ring pops out the slot and continue turning till the ring is entirely removed. Then you can use a large wrench and remove the cap nut on the lower side of the rack and the locking nut under the cap, then remove the upper two bolts holding the piece that the column attaches too. then you should be able to slide the entire rack guts out the passenger side, Then just simply follow the instructions and remove the metal ring with the rubber seal and you have a non power rack. just make sure to apply a lot of good grease onto the teeth of the inner rack and the pinon on reassembly. With all this done Enjoy! you now have a power rack ratio with no resistance of the looped line setup.

If you need more help pm me I will help anyway I can.

Yup I did read that I was just stating he shouldn't use the CSM rack in his car because parts wont fit correctly.

So what was untrue then, maybe you should be more specific? In the post just above yours I pointed out that he should get a rack from an elantra because in my experience some parts do not interchange between the elantra's and the csm's 100%.

Who posted information that was not true?

sorry 89mirageman I didn't mean you I posted about this post here and I did read yours after just confirming 100% that it doesn't work well because I have done it myself.
