I have a phantom grip in my colt turbo tranny and it works amazingly! I do not know if it is the same thing as the B&M, but it sure makes it fun to do burnouts with :). The first car I have ever owned that spins both wheels, I love the feeling of the front end going side to side at high rpms :).

Actually I don't know :(. I bought the tranny with it in it already. I think it is around 139 USD, but I am not sure.

From what I've heard it's similar to the B&M in that they're both clutch type LSD's and use your stock diff housing. The usual prices you will find the Phantom Grip for are usually close to $280 USD. To get an estimate on how much an install will run you, just call your shop and ask for a quote on a diff rebuild.

They are definitely not a clutch style LSD although they operate on a similar principal. Essentially they consist of 2 blocks of steel held apart by a couple of springs. The device is inserted between the spider gears of an open diff and attempt to limit the amount spin differential between the 2 sides. Considering how relatively cheap they are compared to a true LSD they seem like a good deal although I cant bring myself to install one personally - I'll hold out for a Quaife.

Broke4speed-----How is it when you are coming out of a corner with the boost on? 'cause normally I get mucho inside wheelspin.

I'm actually kinda scared to try cause with the sportlines, stock shocks (ugh), Colt GT swaybar, and 155/80 13's it understeers in a terrifying way. I would probably just slide through the corner into the ditch :).

I have the BMTranny version and am happy with it. I've only had it for a couple months, but I can say at my HP level (@400 at the wheels) instead of one wheel spinning I now have two wheels spinning. :D

I didn't expect a traction miracle, but I know it'll prove its worth when a bigger set of slicks come into the picture. In regards to daily driving, first and second gear are still absolutely useless with the nitto drag radials. Even if I try to go easy in second (1/2 throttle or so) it breaks the tires loose and is banging off of the rev limiter. 3rd gear traction is better than before, but still spins pretty good in the 60-80mph range.

I never had any torque steer issues, but this part did make the front end feel more connected to the road.

155/80 13's ???? Holy skinny wheel , Broke ; you've got to upgrade dude!
Wait, I get it; you're trying to get the same 'spinning wheels at any speed' effect as Underdog without the horsepower! We are on to you now!

LOL! It is fun, but that is not the reason...I'm still rounding up my summer rubber :). Those are my winters, and I am beginning to really hate them, the understeer sucks!!!
