 Post subject: Maplightfor the 3G's

I don't think any of the csms here in the US came with a maplight though they can be easily retrofitted from other cars.

do you mean the light on the roof in between the front seats? cant believe they didnt put them in US cars?!

Most cars with the retro sunroof I see so commonly, have this sort of map/front lighting.
Just the dome light moved forward and nothing console-like about it.

Not the dome light, we got those. A maplight (to me) is a small console type piece with two separate lights (one driver and one passenger) that's mounted forward on the ceiling, lights being used to read maps/etc. They can be easily retrofitted, just pull power+ground off the wires that go to the dome light.

yep, the bulging area by the rearview mirror has enough room behind it to mount a DSM overhead/map light. Just pull power from the dome light. My brother and I did it to one of our old colts long long ago. worked great ad it was factory mitsu 8)

That one has the little dummy-lights but most don't. The install involved pulling the headliner and making a bracket.
