Alright, The cars almost back together, I'm concerned with stopping.
I have an 11 second car, I need 11 second car brakes.

What are all my options with the 89 GT? I've heard of use with gvr4 hubs or knuckles yadda yadda, Somebody give me the run down and best option. Cost isn't really an issue as this is something I absolutely don't want to skimp out on, but I'm not looking to spend brakeman prices($3,000+) either.

Thanks for your time:)

Dude, do some searching. There are a LOT of threads dealing with this subject. The short answer to your question is, GVR4 brakes are pretty much the best option unless you want to do a 5-lug conversion and then you can use DSM big brakes (same shit as GVR4 brakes).

The rears are the same size that are on the 1g dsm's & GVR4's so need need to upgrade those. Coltsfan has a thread going right now and there are plenty of options for the front.

Occasionally a used kit will pop up here and there.

I wonder if he would do a group buy on another batch....

What about the 4 lug expo? Anyone know the bolt pattern size?

EDIT: I did some intense googlin and found that the Expo is a 4x114.3 pattern like the colt. I think we have a winner!

I was looking at the hubs and they are non captive and bigger than the colt (same size as Eclipse). The hub also seems like it would accept the colt tie rod end without any crazy modifications. If those hubs fit it would be just like the VR4 but without having tie rod issues. I don't know if camber would be an issue yet but I am going to test fit it on my car this weekend.

Yeah, Coltsfan has the expo knuckles in his possession now so he should be updating us any day now. Hopefully they will work out because they are really easy to come by in the junkyards.
