You can also modify the 1g upper plates...I am having to modify the upper strut plates on the car in order to accommodate the front DSM strut assemblies I'll post pictures when i am more into it and have more done.

What's wrong with dsm lowering springs on agxs up front and gr2's with stock awd dsm springs in the back? I love it.
Just making sure, that is the GR2 for a CSM, not an AWD correct?

Otherwise I am guessing that the AWD GR2 would sit the car too low.

How does it handle? I am thinking auto cross and rally cross for my car.

Sorry about hi jacking the thread...

I think mine might be awd dsm gr2's with stock awd springs in the rear, mine are modified, something Chris (89mirageman) did some time ago.

Yeah those were just awd gr-2's with the dsm lower bushing welded in with stock awd dsm springs.

Ok so here is my update on the 1g AWD megan racing coilover setup into the mirage!

Disclaimer: This is a LOT more work then most people would honestly want to do, but i am really pleased with the results so far. If you are afraid to cut into your car DON'T LOOK AT THIS!
I could have modified the top hat and done MINOR metal work and had no issues with these fitting, however i like the way this idea turned out better. I think the stability will be more then worth it. Not to mention if i ever decide to put a different setup on this opens my options up...

That said, Here are the pictures and you can pretty well get the jest of it!

Ok so the ORIGINAL issue with why you can't just bolt these in is after you knock the 3rd stud out of the top hat, the 2 remaining studs are too narrow for the CSM shock tower.
So i modified them a little

This is what we came up with and what i liked out of the idea pool lol

So at this point we got to thinking about the metal that was cut out and the support of the actual tower. So I decided to go back with 1/8 thick graded washers from Lowes :D 1 dollar 8 cents for 3

This is what the front top hats look like

I figured HEY why can't we just knock that stud out and turn the top hat around so that where the #3 stud should be is facing toward the fender instead of in towards the motor. It worked out ok and i was pretty happy with it. I just didn't have the adjustment in the camber plate that i wanted and the shock was not centered in the plate when my camber was adjusted.

SO me being me, I decided to just go ahead and flip them back Inward and make a 3rd stud option...So i did

My first thought about that was that i could just cut the slots in the metal and kinda scab it back together. It was going to look like crap! SO i opted to cut it all out and use 1/16 plate steel and form it for what i needed so here is what it looks like...

Don't judge me too early IT's NOT CLEANED UP YET!

OH and back to the not having the adjustment i wanted...I took the top hats to work with me and decided to use a end mill and further my slots for MORE THEN ample adjustment.

I'll keep updating and when the suspension is done i'll post a finished picture.

"The car has kyb twin tube struts all the way around with awd eibach sportline springs, energy sway bar bushings , 1" spacers"

i got my car with the above setup. i would assume the kyb twin tubes are softer then the gr2's. my car rides mildly rough, sort of like a thirdgen f-body but in a lighter car obviously. the only reason i would change the setup is for more serious handling but really, unless it was awd i doubt that would make a difference on the street. very pleased with it this way and didnt see anyone putting anything similar up.

I think the pics make it out to be worse than it is. The welds are clean and wont cause any problems. If you were going off-road I might worry but this will work well.
