Hey, can anyone here tell me how to figure out what rig a set of CV axles fits? I have a rebuilt pair that were in the back of an 89 Colt GT automatic when I got it but when I went to install the driver side one it fit the tranny fine but was about 3/4" shorter than the old axle. They are 25 spline axles that fit an 89 Colt auto transmission. I checked online for spec sheets and based on the passenger side axle length thought they were for a 84-91 colt vista, but NAPA said they weren't. The compressed length of the longest axle is 35 inches and it has a 2 3/4 inch diameter rubber doughnut about 14 1/2 inches from the tranny end; the compressed length of the shorter axle is 23 5/16 inches. Without knowing what they fit they're scrap metal; if I knew what they fit I could find them a good home. If anyone could provide any info I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Quazar
