Greetings all,
I'm in the middle of the enjoyable task of rebuilding a KM210. Please, don't anyone ask me about shagging snap rings...
Anywho, i've been pressing gears and sleeves off the input shaft and have discovered that the bearing sleeve that is installed under 4th gear is rather difficult to remove. Closer inspection of the photo below reveals that the sleeve's shoulder isn't proud of the face on the 3rd-4th Synchro - therefore i can't get a bearing seperator behind it. The only thing i can see is two small lubricant channels machined into the mating face of the Synchro, which are off centre anyway.
So, my question to you, if I may: do I have to get on the back of 3rd gear (as shown in the photo below) and try and press all three off at once? The blowtorch i've got has been sufficient so far to heat up and remove other sleeves/gears - does anyone think i'll need an oxy kit for this one?
I look forward to hearing what suggestions you guys may have.
Thanks,
Greg
