I'm guessing these are the same as GVR4 spindles? I know they cause some sort of problem but lowering the car seems to help out. Can anyone who has the AWD DSM or GVR4 spindles on their CSM chime in? Pics would be awesome. I need something to match the 5 lug rear on the AWD talon rear axle so that I'll have 5 lug hubs on all 4 corners.

I think this has been asked before, and I think the general consensus is that it will cause bumpsteer and you'll have serious positive camber issues. If you don't care about bumpsteer and you correct the camber then it should work fine. One of my friends put GVR4 front hub/spindles on his Colt GT and aside from correcting the positive camber he's had no issues with it. There's some sort of difference in the lower control arms I think between CSM's and DSM's? Maybe they're shorter or something? I don't know.

I should have them on my car by the end of next week. I know GSXtreme has them on his AWD colt and he said he has yet to notice bumpsteer. I have camber bolts that will hopefully eliminate whatever positive camber results from the install. Supposedly the reason for the bumpsteer is because the tierods have the be flipped so the stud faces up, which changes its geometry slightly.

Camber bolts are completely useless, i'd suggest slotting your front struts to eliminate the positive camber. That's what my friend did who put the GVR4 hub/spindles on his CSM. It worked really well.

I originally intended on slotting the front struts, so that's always my backup plan if the bolts don't work out, but I think I'm gonna try them anyways since I already have them.

Bolts are like $20, I bought them because I didn't want to be "cheap" about it. Yeah, that was a complete waste of $20. I went to install the bolts, the freaking things kept slipping on me. I'd get it set where I wanted it, lower the car, check the camber with an actual camber gauge, drive the car around the block, come back, and the camber is way off. Somehow my toe ended up getting ruined too during this process, and I ended up destroying my front tires in like a week's time. I ended up getting so frustrated that I put the stock bolts back in and I've been happy ever since. I don't really feel like paying money to have something be more difficult than it should be. My friend slotted his struts, checked his camber, and it was dead-on first try. He's never had to mess with it since. The car went from having +2* of camber to having -1* of camber in one fell swoop. It's a lot easier if you work at an alignment shop though and are a professional, that's for sure. The only way to do it, and do it right, is to buy camber plates.

Slot the struts, bolt it back on with large washers, have it aligned, weld the washers to the strut bracket. They won't slip, and it is cheaper/better than the bolts imo

Thanks for all the help guys! Can anyone verify that the GVR4 and the 1g AWD DSM's use the same spindle?

Those are gorgeous. How long did it take for those things to arrive from the date of order? I assume they are direct bolt ons?

pma1123 just made me some new plates to replace the whacked DSM specific plates I had. Should allow me to actually adjust camber into spec with more caster.

Great news, I was attempting to machine down a 1g hub to fit in a csm bearing assembly. I will still do it and add adj. plates. but I have 2 ways now. Those teins are HOT!

They took about 2 months to get em, they are supposed to be direct swap, have yet to install :)
