Hi,

Do I need to lower or remove the fuel tank to replace my oem fuel pump by a walbro 190/lph unit?

Or all the work can be accomplish by inside of the car under the rear seat...

Thanks, colt92t

Tank has to come out. If it's never been out before it will be a PITA the first time.

If you really wanted to make this easier the second time around, you can remove a circular panel of metal on the floor pan to accomodate the pump going in and out without removing the tank the next time. Just be sure to seal up the plate with window weld or seam sealer so noise and rust don't creep in too quickly. But yes the tank is 4 nuts, drop it with low fluid inside, alot of tanks have the drain bolt 12mm head. Just make sure you don't break any lines while lowering the tank.

I found the best way is to just keep the pressure side connected ( hose with crimped ends and uses two flare wrenches ) and let the sender unit staysuspended under the car. slide the tank out after draining it of course and the fuel pump replacement is easy.
