Shut the front door. Is that a garden-plastic-divider front spoiler?

Also for the ebay link above with the 92 sedan hubs for $39 may be wrong. They list the 1.8 and 2.4 expo in there along with the 1.5 mirage. These do not use the same hubs. The expo has a larger rear stub axle too.
Yes I def overlooked that part of the listing,I apologize! Not trying to spread misinformation in the thread. I emailed the seller and he says the bearing is not offered and said nothing about the hub. I merely asked if the hub was in fact the same as in the picture. So i'm going to email him again.

Yeah you have to be really careful ordering parts for these cars from ebay and the parts stores. I needed a tie rod end for my 94 colt vista a few years ago and the lady kept giving me one for a car and not the wagon. Turns out the tie rods are larger on the wagon and they don't interchange.

Funny thing about this listing is that it lists the wagon and the car. You could ask them to measure the inside diameter of the wheel bearing but I doubt they would do it.

89mirageman, CAn you just do a write-up on the rear swap, These threads are getting so long and searching for them are like a needle in a haystack now.

I wish this site had a How-to section like on Galantvr4.org,
http://www.galantvr4.org/ubbthreads/pos ... oard=UBB11

Anyhow, Ive been trying to do this rear swap for a month now, I have all the parts ready, but I havent had time to find a machine shop. What I plan on doing is placing the dsm rotor on the 92 mirage hubs and spray painting the lug pattern onto it. Then I will take them to a machine shop for the Drillin.

And just to re-emphasize, DSM rear hubs do not bolt onto our rear spindles! dsm rear hub= FAIL , Ive tried it myself.

Its so simple, no need for a write up. Knock 3 of the 4 studs out of the 92 mirage sedan rear hub. Place a 1g dsm rear rotor over the hub and use a nut or lug nut to hold it down. Now you have a perfect template to drill the other 4 holes and it can be done in a drill press with cutting oil and a quality bit. No need to pay a machine shop.

Also maybe Harvey will chime in here but if you use the 92 hubs on a 89-91 car the lip on the stub axle for the oil seal will make the hub stick out. Therefore when you bolt the caliper onto the caliper bracket you will have to space it out slightly so that the caliper centers the rotor. I just looked at a 92 sedan at the yard that I pulled hubs off of a while back and it did not have that lip on the rear stub axle. Why mitsu would change this for only one year I don't know, but they did.

It is simple yes, but I do not have a drill press or know anyone with one. Ill keep trying to find one though. I even placed an ad on craigslist so I can go to someones house who owns a press but noone responded. I offered cash too!

Also, There were some screw holes in the hub that I do not like so I welded them closed. I didnt want the bit to Jump all over when it catches on one of those holes

ROFL!!

I think it would be easier to just install the rear axle assembly out of the fwd eclipse at the junkyard. It looks exactly the same as the GT one... Opinions?

I have a set of dsm wheels and I NEED TO FREAKING FIND AN EXPO AT THE YARD!!!!!!!! :ANAL: :ANAL:

Its not the same, The lengths of the trailing arm are different and shaped a lil different, trust me I had this idea too until i took them both out and laid them side by side. You will need to cut off the trailing arms from the colt rear end and weld them to the DSM rear end. It proved too much for me and my little harbor freight welder. If you have the tools and know how it can, and has been done before by someone on this forum. 89mirageman can you provide the link? I cant remember the guys name.

uweenukr is his username on here. He didn't really go into detail on how he managed to get the 1g rear end in his car but here is a link to his build thread. Maybe you guys can talk him into crawling under there and getting some good pics or doing a writeup.

yeah, I finally got my car in the air today at work and looked at everything. It is different, the trailing arm comes down from the opposite side of the car. SAD DAY! :butthead:

Guess I will have to do the drilling;) I ordered the rotors today. Front and back. I can use my rear calipers so I just need front stuff...

I just put the entire dsm knuckle on the front of the colt. I flipped the tie rod and all was well. No modifying at all. Just grabbed the camber plates and everything adjusted out.

I am not sure why this is a big deal. Install the dsm crap, the camber plates and just bleed the brakes. I had no choice to go to five lug. That is a rule in the SCTA for drive wheels.

We are talking about the rear, not the front. Did you convert the rear to 5 lug too? If so how?

Pretty sure his first post in this thread was for the front. I know you guys went a little off topic though.

I did not do the rears. Was not needed.
