After checking the FSM it seem really easy to pull off the rear hub.

Coltsfans thread in the archives http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=32097 seems to be the way to go to get 5-lug action and big brakes on the front of our cars. Would camber bolts help after slotting the strut,or are they really ineffective? Never used them so I don't know from experience.

An Expo just came into the local Pull A Part, and now I'm wanting to do this. I've read the thread several times and I think with a decent puller I could do this over a weekend,at least on the front...weather permitting

edit: Oh yeah, forgot to state I'm also tired of looking for 15" wheels and up for my Colt. can't ever find them in 4-lug,when DSM wheels are so plentiful around here
Edit again:removed ebay link

Ok, so I went to the junkyard today and spent a lot more money than I thought it would cost and got all four dsm hubs. I had the calipers too, but they wanted way too much for them...

I have learned to ask for a ballpark price first when visiting a new junkyard. Saves a lot of time pulling stuff if they think its gold and want top dollar for it.

My question is: 1.) With doing the expo front knuckles then installing dsm wheel bearings and hubs, do I use the expo caliper with dsm rotor in the front?

The caliper spacing is the same between the expo and dsm knuckle. I'm pretty sure the calipers are the same too. Unless you're using twin piston calipers just get 1g dsm fwd rotors and calipers

2.) For the rear, does anyone know if the dsm hub assembly will fit on the stock rear gt spindle? I have the same question about the rear caliper and rotor when going to the dsm hub. It will def need a dsm rotor for the 5 lug, but is the rotor the same diameter and thickness?

Like I stated a few posts above this one, the 5 lug dsm hubs do not fit the rear of a csm. The stub axles are smaller on a csm. If you have a factory turbo car with rear discs already you reuse the calipers, just buy 1g fwd dsm rear rotors. They are identical in size to GVR4 and turbo miirage/colt rear rotors with the only difference being the amount of holes for the lugs.
Ok, I must have missed the rear hub answer. So I just need the front hubs rotors and calipers from dsm. But the rear, do I drill the hub or something for the 5 lug rotor? I also assume the rotors are the same diameter then, eh?

You could also find 4 lug hubs from any 92 mirage sedan and redrill them to 5 lug using a 1g dsm rear rotor. Since they are round there is plenty of material there to do so. Also I think the 5 lug rear hubs from the 06 ralli art lancers would work however I have never tried it. You could grab a new hub from the parts store and test it out and then look for a used set once you know they actually fit.

Ok, I guess since its going on the rear which doesn't see any rotational torque re-drilling should be safe... Just seems sketchy to me..

I have a set of colt and DSM rear rotors, and I laid the DSM rotor on top to mark out the holes. One hole matches up,so only 4 need drilled.

is it only the rear hubs from a 92 mirage? or any 4th gen? And my caliper will fit in the rear?

And the front rotors are the same between the expo and dsm? I will just order new rotors front and rear.

and the front expo and dsm rotors and calipers are the same.... right?

I was going to pull the entire axle, but when I brought it up to pay for it they wanted 100 bucks for it! Then the car would have dsm front and rear everything.

expo knuckles let you use dsm hubs and dsm struts believe it without camber plates. and then you use the dsm rotors and dsm calipers.

92 only, 93-96 4g cars use 4 x 100 hubs so they will not work

And the front rotors are the same between the expo and dsm? I will just order new rotors front and rear.

They are identical in size but remember one is 4 lug and the other is 5. Buy rotors for a 1g dsm. Also if it were me I would go ahead and get the 93+ awd front rotors and toss the twin piston calipers on

and the front expo and dsm rotors and calipers are the same.... right?

Calipers are the same between the expo and the single piston 1g dsm's. Again the rotors are different

I was going to pull the entire axle, but when I brought it up to pay for it they wanted 100 bucks for it! Then the car would have dsm front and rear everything.

Well unless you find the 92 sedan hubs used they are going to cost you around $100 or more so the dsm axle may be the cheaper route if you can make it fit.

Also for the ebay link above with the 92 sedan hubs for $39 may be wrong. They list the 1.8 and 2.4 expo in there along with the 1.5 mirage. These do not use the same hubs. The expo has a larger rear stub axle too.

The rear axle looks identical. It is an inch wider is all I have found that was different.

they give more camber. and you need camber plate to give you proper camber. the expo knuckle fix this.

Actually you still have to slot the upper mounting hole on the strut even with the expo knuckles.

OK I thought I read You still had to slot the strut. I've already done that for how low my car sits. I will just buy some camber plates to make it easier;)
