It's funny you posted that, Jason. I just got these in the mail today :)

Those are gorgeous. How long did it take for those things to arrive from the date of order? I assume they are direct bolt ons?
They took about 2 months to get em, they are supposed to be direct swap, have yet to install :)

Get on it :P I need to know if they fit, the prcie is right and I can get a set in like 3 weeks which is must faster then RRE, and cheaper.

Thanks for all the help guys! Can anyone verify that the GVR4 and the 1g AWD DSM's use the same spindle?

Yes I can.......

Mine seemed to work, I have one 1g and 1 galant one, as one of them broke on the press.

I guess I should have asked if the AWD DSM spindles will work on the front of a CSM like the GVR4 ones do. I'm assuming they do since OGP is running one on his car. I picked up a set of 5 lug wheels and have an AWD DSM parts car, that's why I was wondering.

There is no such thing as a spindle on the front of the car. It's part of the hub and just referred to as a hub since you have to swap the whole thing. The spindle part isn't as easily removed like the rear of the AWD.

You would have to pull the whole hub and press stuff off to swap "spindles" in front.

I should have added I just assume he meant hub. I broke one of my galant Hubs on the press changing bearings, and used a 1G hub with the galant center section/spindle-to stay 4 bolt. The casting numbers where the exact same and I measured them out and they seemed the same. I personally think they are the same, you would still have the same bumpsteer and camber issues.

My bad, I was thinking the hub was the thing that the wheel actually rides on. The part with the wheel studs on it. Didn't know the whole assembly was called the hub. Anyway it still sounds like it should fit since OGP used one on his car. I guess I'll have to try it and see.

I've always considered the hub to be the part where the wheel studs are, and where the wheel is bolted to. The wheel bearing sits inside it. It really is all one piece though, the hub and spindle. It all depends on your own personal terminology I suppose.

So were talking about the hub, or the knuckles?

1] The hubs are the SAME...... EXCEPT for the 4/5 lug patterns.

2] The KNUCKLES mount to the ball joint, and shock assemblies the SAME.....
EXCEPT where the tie rods mount to the hub arms. There is a definite difference in this aspect.... I just took 1G knuckles off of my GVR4 and replaced them with GVR4 knuckles.

Sorry, I should have specified that in my first post :P

The knuckles are what I was asking about, not sure why I called them spindles. I want to take the entire knuckle off of the AWD DSM and put it on the front of a CSM so that I can have 5 lug hubs and the non captive setup. I know a few people have used GVR4 front knuckles on their CSM's so that they could use the twin piston front calipers and larger GVR4 rotors. I want to do the exact same except I want to use the DSM setup.

Gotcha.....
Then do what alot of GVR4 owners do.

Use the GVR4 knuckles and back that up with DSM hubs :)
Sign onto the GVR4 site.

There are a coupla guys parting out their GVR4's

I am sorry to say but you are dead wrong. A quick caps search shows that the part number for the left hand knuckle on a DSM is mb518227 and the part number for the knuckle of a galant vr4 on the left is mb518227. My friend also has bolted 1g knuckles right up to his galant vr-4. So yes you can put a hub in the galant knuckle or you can just bolt on a dsm knuckle.
