Since I didn't get any reply in the General section...

Who here has a Colt that they rally?

I know rallyguy, but I thought there was also someone here who lived a lot closer to me (Norfolk, VA) who also has one. Just wondering because I am considering building one. Yes, I know this is an expensive proposition, but I am parting out my 87 CRX prepped rally car, so I will have some things I will be able to save money on.

I'd like to take a look at one up close (doesn't have to be turbo, but has to be 89-92 model).

Thanks,

Ren

I think there are only two rally prepped colts right now, but I am not positive. Mine, as you are aware, and Rob Shibao's. Mine is a Group 2 non turbo while Robs is a big Turbo Group 5 car. Unfortunately, he isnt any closer though as he lives in the Los Angeles area. Here is a link to a sponsor that has done work on both of our cars, and is currently finishing Rob's up for an early 2004 debut.

If you get into any binds, let me know and I would be more than happy to take some specific pics for you. Or if you are traveling out this way for business, we can get together.

Also, many of the custom parts on my car are available, some from me, but also from supporters such as: the control arms are from Dave Turner, fuel tank skid plate at RRE.

I got one. Here's some pics. Has been rallied since 1992. Completed 27 SCCA events winning SW/RM division G5 in 98 and 99 and also did fairly well in California Rally Series as well. Its a 84 turbo. New cage and new Momo Acropolis seats going in next month as well as having the Bilsteins rebuilt. New redesigned intake incorporating a BOV and cooler larger diameter tubing to manifold after that. Straight pipe in progress right now. Going to race in the Colorado Hill Climb Association's events and also in the Colorado Cog and maybe one or two other Club events next year. Here's some pics, both before and after the paint job.
