What kind of tires do you have on that car? They look pretty gnarly and mean. Congrats!

I don't know right now, I will figure out what tires those are. I bought them with the car. I also have a set of good street tires that came with it so I am setup for both seasons. I am going to throw it through an autocross to see what happens.

After a run I looked at my time and thought, that wasn't too bad because I am a newbie at this. Then a couple of subies ran through getting slower times. Surprised the heck out of me. Pretty cool :supz:

I can only imagine what would happen if I learned how to drive this thing.

The car was setup pretty well for this event. Light, just the right amount of HP (no turbo lag surprise) SNOW TIRES helped a lot and the car has good ground clearance.

Today it is raining so the car is being washed off!

Location Updated!
Those are the tires. They are pretty nice. I haven't gotten the car stuck yet (and I have tried...)

So I am interested in racing this thing now and maybe auto X it a bit. Has anyone had any luck with these cars? Wouldn't hurt to try. I have a good set of street tires and I would be in the stock class. What base improvements could I do to it to help it along (besides changing tires)?
Might try the 4g37/injectors/mas/TB thing to see how that works

I am surprised how those VW golfs did. they took 3 and 4th over the entire crowd! (42 cars showed up I believe)
One was an GTI and the other was the base version.

are VW setup better compared to the CSM? I mean I would think that they would be close but we are talking about German engineering Vs Japanese.

Congradulations on your finish that track looks like it has some long straits that you could get rolling pretty good on .

Hey Andrew....I missed your update. Those older VWs are torquey and lightweight, so just expect them to do well also. Autox is going to cost you some scrilla for sure with suspension mods and more. There is a guy that races his Colt at the oval track about 5 miles from me, but I didn't have time to meet or see how well he did last season. I would assume he did alright...these cars are surprising as you just found out. Get this...he painted "DODGE THIS!!" on the back of the colt. :supz:

I was just saying to my wife about how much fun that looks like it would've been. There's nothing like that around here in PA. We have a pretty famous motorsports complex here called Beaver Run (which can be found at www.beaverun.com). I plan to take the Colt out there this summer hopefully.
