YAY! If that is all the bar looks like, then I am POSITIVE I can get one made up to fit. I have a friend who is a machinist too, should be a piece of cake....a slow cooking one, but cake nonetheless :).

Berserko: I will let you know if my bar turns out ok, if so I can probably make you up one for letting me see the pic :D.

how difficult is it to actually drill the holes in the strut bar, and does it make sense to install it on a carbuerted colt/mirage, as the bar sits directly on the carb. Evertime work has to be done that involves the carb, the bar would have to be removed. Is it worth all the work???? let me know

ditto on the 'Y' bars. They will prevent the bar flexing one way or the other under pressure which would otherwise decrease the effect of the strut brace. I'd leave em on.

Well I haven't totally thrown this idea out yet. I think what I'm going to do is get an adaptor plate made basically will be a collar that interfaces between the the size of the talon bearing and the colt opening then a matter of drilling holes... anyone interested in such an adaptor?

If you're going throught that trouble, just buy a bearing and make a plate that is adjustable. While you're at it, make me a set! :)

I was thinking about this the other day when i was helping my buddy put his strut bar on his supra. i dont think it would be very hard to make a new design of strut bar or copy the one from the pic if anyone is intrested i can fab up one and post some pics and people can tell me what they think and if they want one

Thanks

Jeff

now wait now wait now wait a cotton picking second (why do I sound like foghrn leg horn?) It can't be both ways there is no way a rear talon bar can bolt to the rear AND the front of a colt the bolts are totally different width apart the rears because the don't have he large bearing cap are at least 1.25" closer together I just so happend to have a rear top cap laying around to compare to a front top cap. So if a rear talon bar fits the rear great it will NOT fit the front.

The suspension weiner has spoke... :)

Here is proof that the 2nd gen Eclipse rear strut bar will fit. I am planning on making the front work as well. I'll post pics when I get that done. I've had a 2nd gen Eclipse as well as 4 1st gens. This is my first C/M/S. MysteryMan was refering to this car.

Now, where there's a will, there's a way. No reason to say it will never go until you've tried. I just picked this car up yesterday and will be performing the swap of a 4g61t in the next few weeks.

See that bar bolts up fine to the rear. Now the front is a totally different story. I assumed it would fit the rear bit it will not fit the front without fabrication.. just because it has 2 bolts doesn't mean it will work plug and play... but its nice to see it will work on the back i need to get me one of those...
