I am going to give rally racing a try. I need some help on car set up.
Any little tips would help.
Eg,
-Would I be better off with my battery in the hatch?
-Tires?

Any input would be really appreciated.

I'm gonna move this to Racing Tech. Now if you don't know if you should move your battery to the trunk, maybe you need to do more research on rally car set-ups. Not many guys here rally, and even fewer can tell you how to properly set one up. Best bet would be to send a PM to rallyguy.

Do a search by username and put in "rallyguy" as the user. Take your time and read through his posts.

I'm pretty versed in rally, I've been on service crews for a lot of teams and have a decent amount of experience. Now I'm not saying I'm better than rallyguy I'm just saying there's another person on the board that has rally experience. That way you can get different opinions on the same question.

man i would absolutely love to get more involved in rally

the only rally i ever saw in teh dirt was a little circuit in tower city, pa

i did help martial the shakanes<---spellin?

road rally does not really interest me - since its not a race......

i live in south eastern pa - someone show me where theres a close rally than NH and ME!

expect for the pro rally in wellsboro, pa - i will be there!

if i could find one of those entry level dirt rally crosses - in the dirt w/cones I would enter my laser - the paints kinda faded anyhow ya know

they have those?!?! is that kinda like an auto-x in dirt? that sounds like fun! yeah, i don't think there's anything around here simply because of the sprawling burbs... there's not too many places left that are dirt road that could be used for rallying.

CA has tons of those events. We run a series that includes 5 or 6 lcoations, 2-4 races per location. Basically, you can rally cross an entire season out here and compete almost every weekend.

I am a driving instructor at an event this weekend in so-cal. Entry is cheap and it is a ton of fun. Colts do pretty well. I took a 1.5L colt with street tires and turned fastest 2wd time of the day.

SCCA has only dropped pro-rally. They are still the sanctioning body of rally cross and rally sprint.
