Hey All,

I'm putting in a new transmission in soon (again). The old one, at 75 MPH ran at about 4,000 - 4,700 RPM's. Is this what it should be at? Actually, that's a dumb question. I know it should be lower, but how high or low should they be and at what speeds. How is that adjusted. Someone tell me, so I can get the best performace from the new transmission. Thanks!

i think what he was trying to say was 4 speed auto. theere are some around in the m/s sedans. BTW...my mas driving the 3 speed auto colt and i am going up to her house this tuesday so ill run it up the highway and tell ya how much its runnin at. the thing has only 65k **original** miles on it. so its pretty much new....mechanical wise that is...but if you are looking for a 4 speed auto, the yard by me has one that i could get for cheap, ill chaeck into it this tues as well. hope that helps.

*off topic*never neutral bomb a csm auto tranny,i used to have a 4 speed and i neutral bombed it with a full car load trying to race a honda and all i heared was a clank and the tranny was dead.these trannys unless built up i wouldnt think they could take more than 110 hp, of course it had 189,000 miles on it, but thats not the point
