Is this possible and would I get better gas mileage?

I found a german seller with some parts for my car on ebay and he has a ecu for a 1.5 and 1.3 aswell as some other goodies which I will reveal if and when I get them

No.

There is no tom-foolery that will get the system to give you better fuel economy without, A) running leaner, B)likely doing damage to the motor long term.

If you make the intake system more efficient, and the exhaust side flow better ...

.... translated to intake porting and cylinder head work (3 valve won't see massive benefits anyways/hot cylinder heads compared to 4 v/per/cyl) and then a tapered exhaust system setup ....

.... you will have spent loads of money and or invested tons of time.

Best you can really have, is clean piston tops and combustion chambers, port matched intake manifold to TB, gasket match Intake to head, and some free flowing exhaust .... maybe a slighty different header but it will change your power band and related efficiency, so stick with a muffler that flows better.

Unless you know what injector was in the 4g13, it will only end up running fatter fuel trims to compensate for the fact that the engine doesn't run in the proper bandwidth it was expecting.

Or so I think will happen. Could be wrong.

EGR improves MPG to a degree, and lowers temperatures in the combustion chamber.
